A couple of weeks ago I received the AMD ryzen version of the Framework 13 laptop. I was attracted to Framework laptops because of their ethos of making laptops with user replaceable parts.
I chose the AMD ryzen one because I thought that would mean I would be able to play games a bit better, and maybe I would be able to run some AI workloads. Well. That seems to have worked out well. I've used gtp4all to get access to some models and they work surprisingly well one my own laptop, but by god, the fans work hard. All that stuff about it using loads of electricity as completely true.
I've enjoyed the 4:3 size screen particularly. I didn't realise how much I missed the more-square monitors.
I'm about to buy a second one, for the wife. We're going to standardise the family over the next few years on Framework, whereas previously we were on x260 think pads.
